How do we support our employees?

One of AbBaltis’ primary objectives is to facilitate work-life balance. Many of our team members are parents, and we understand that this comes with commitments and responsibilities that may not align with the traditional 9-5 working arrangements. In order to support our employees, we adapt to their needs and offer bespoke flexible working options.

Some of our amazing staff members were happy to share their experience:

Lia, Sourcing Administrator: “Balancing work responsibilities alongside caring for a child can at times be tricky. AbBaltis has been very accommodating in allowing me to work from home when my child is unwell, so that I am able to continue working and still look after my child. I recently faced the difficulty of my child starting school and was unsure how I would juggle both my working hours and the school run, however AbBaltis kindly accepted my request to change my working hours to fit around picking up my daughter from school. I am lucky to work for a company that has a family orientated culture. Rather than feeling penalised for having a child, I feel understood and supported”.

Debbie, Shipping Supervisor: AbBaltis offers a flexible and understanding work environment for working parents. The company has allowed me to adjust my working week/ allowed working from home days to suit my daughter’s changing nursery sessions. The management at AbBaltis are always understanding when it comes to adjusting your workload/hours during periods of sickness. By the company always being open and compassionate to the challenges of parenthood, this makes for a great work/life balance”.

Claire, Finance Administrator: Giedre, our Managing Director, is not only a dedicated leader but also a compassionate parent. She genuinely cares about the well-being of her employees and goes above and beyond to accommodate their needs, particularly when it comes to achieving a healthy work-life balance. One instance that truly exemplifies Giedre's caring nature is when I fell ill. Despite her busy schedule, she took the time to send me a thoughtful care package filled with medicines and vitamins for both myself and my children. This gesture demonstrated her deep concern and genuine care for her team members. Furthermore, I greatly appreciate Giedre's commitment to fostering a positive and supportive work environment. She actively ensures that we have access to counseling services and organises regular group meetings to support our overall well-being. Her dedication to creating such an environment is evident, and it has played a significant role in my long tenure with the company. I am incredibly grateful to work under Giedre's leadership. Her understanding, flexibility, and genuine care for her employees make her an exceptional boss. The positive work environment she cultivates has undoubtedly contributed to my happiness and job satisfaction”.

Claudia, Quality Assurance Officer: “AbBaltis is committed to providing flexible work arrangements for parents with childcare responsibilities. Our culture is very relaxed, and was founded on the fact that there are not many flexible opportunities for parents. This means that if your workday needs to be changed to a different day or different hours, this is always possible.
