Meet The Team

Giedre is the founding Managing Director of AbBaltis Ltd. She holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Massachusetts, USA and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania. Giedre started her career in the industry as a bench scientist working for companies such as Genzyme, Antigenics and GSK. She then progressed to positions in business development in the In Vitro Diagnostics sector before moving onto founding AbBaltis in 2010. In 2014 Giedre received the Entrepreneur of the Year award at the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Awards and AbBaltis were a finalist for the “International Business of the Year” category.  

Additionally, under her leadership, the company received the Small Business of the Year Award at the Swale Business Awards in 2013 and a Queens Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2015. Giedre is passionate about instilling enthusiasm for future generations to join this market and is committed to investing in the local community by offering numerous student opportunities. She now lives in Sittingbourne with her husband and their four children and enjoys the life balance she achieves from owning her own business. 

Gabriela holds a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Business and Organisational Psychology. As Global Head of People Operations at AbBaltis, she leads the company's people strategy across talent, culture and the full employee lifecycle, applying Lean and Kaizen principles and data-informed decision-making to build leadership capability and a high-performing, accountable team. Gabriela loves the fast-paced nature of AbBaltis, where there's something new to learn every day.

Before joining AbBaltis, Imogen worked in administration, where she developed strong organisational and problem-solving skills. She brought these to AbBaltis as a Shipping Administrator and progressed through hard work to her current role as Operations and Facilities Manager, where she oversees the day-to-day running of the site, manages equipment and machinery, resolves issues promptly, and looks for opportunities to continually improve how the site operates. Imogen enjoys working in an environment where every day is different, with new challenges to overcome and opportunities to make a positive difference to the team and the wider business.

Lia's background is in administration, with over 15 years of experience across a variety of fields, most recently with the NHS. As Operations Admin Support at AbBaltis, she provides administrative support across a range of operational processes, maintains records, coordinates information and ensures key procedures are followed. Lia feels proud to work with a lovely team and for a company that aids scientific discovery and helps improve healthcare for patients worldwide.

Niki, our Key Account Manager, holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Microbiology. Bringing over five years of diverse lab experience along with a solid background in pharmaceutical sales, she blends her scientific knowledge with a dedication to client relations. Since joining AbBaltis in June 2023, Niki has focused on building lasting partnerships with our key clients, driving success within our dynamic team. She takes pride in contributing to the company's mission to improve patient outcomes, working closely with an energetic, positive, and kind team.

Martina completed her undergraduate studies in China before moving to the UK to pursue an MSc in International Business & Management. She joined AbBaltis three years ago as a Technical Sales Intern and has since progressed into her current role as Sales Account Manager, while also supporting sales training and development of the sales department. Martina manages and develops international customer accounts, working closely with clients to understand their requirements and identify suitable biological materials for their research and diagnostic needs. She enjoys building strong customer relationships, travelling as part of her role, and being part of a collaborative, international team.

Özge joined AbBaltis in March 2023, following the successful completion of her MSc in Biotechnology and Bioengineering at the University of Kent. Before transitioning to her current role as a Sales Account Manager, she was an integral part of the laboratory testing team, where she acquired valuable technical knowledge that greatly enhances her expertise and effectiveness. In her current role, Özge works closely with clients to understand complex project requirements and provide tailored solutions, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. Özge enjoys being part of AbBaltis' dynamic and collaborative environment, where the teamwork and energy inspire her to continually improve. Her background in lab testing and technical insights make her an invaluable team member.

Shruti has recently graduated from her Master's degree in International Business and Management at the University of Kent. With a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics from SNDT University in Mumbai, Shruti brings a unique blend of technical knowledge and business acumen to the team. Her professional experience in business development and client relationship management, has equipped her with a strong focus on data analysis, sales strategies, account management, and project management, supported by relevant certifications. Shruti thrives in AbBaltis’ collaborative environment, where she enjoys utilising data insights to enhance client satisfaction and drive impactful business results.

Gerardo brings over 25 years of progressive experience across pharmaceutical, diagnostics, life sciences and biosciences, with a consistent track record of delivering revenue growth, market expansion and high-performing teams. As SAM at AbBaltis, he works closely with customers to understand their long-term goals, building partnerships that drive success for their company, AbBaltis and the patients served, with a particular focus on North America's growth. Gerardo has found a genuine sense of belonging in a team that's dynamic and collaborative and thrives on the fresh perspectives and energy that come with AbBaltis's growth.

Erik Brandao is a Technical Sales Executive at AbBaltis. He is an IBDP Graduate with HL Math, Biology, and Chemistry. Currently he is enrolled in Casper College majoring in Animal Science Technologies.

Maricel is a skilled Virtual Assistant with extensive experience supporting executives, entrepreneurs and organizations, specialising in administrative management, schedule coordination, client communication and back-office support. At AbBaltis, she brings this expertise to the team, managing day-to-day administrative tasks, coordinating schedules and supporting smooth communication across the business using her strong grasp of remote work and digital collaboration tools. Maricel is known for her adaptability and professionalism, consistently anticipating needs and maintaining confidentiality while building strong working relationships.

Elmer Sena is a skilled Virtual Assistant with extensive experience in digital marketing, social media management and E-learning platforms.

With more than 10 years of experience in remote work, he is versatile, a team player, hardworking and can easily learn tasks assigned to him. Now he is focusing his career entirely in Virtual Assistance.

At AbBaltis, he supports the sales team as technical sales executive.

Cynthia is a highly skilled and experienced professional in the field of supply chain and logistics. Her track record of accomplishments is mainly focusing on optimising supply chain operations. She holds a master's degree in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of Liverpool. With over a decade of experience in air cargo logistics planning for the Taiwan and EMEA markets, Cynthia specializes in shipping sensitive products. She is seasoned in logistics management, procurement, customs compliance oversight, and implementing cost-saving strategies. Cynthia's skills and experience will immensely benefit AbBaltis, and she is excited to contribute to its success and support its growth objectives!

Debbie brings over 10 years of administration experience across industries including construction, mortgage and life insurance. As Global Shipping and Logistics Supervisor at AbBaltis, she maintains and updates the company's main stock system, liaises daily with all departments, especially the laboratory, and assists and manages the global shipping and logistics team. Debbie enjoys working in the in vitro diagnostics industry, where there's always something new to learn, and is proud to be part of such a close-knit team.

Biserka brings 21 years of experience across retail operations, administrative management and warehouse and fulfilment leadership, holding a bachelor's degree in social activities and a master's degree in financial management. As Global Shipping and Logistics Coordinator at AbBaltis, she tracks daily shipments and coordinates with labs, sales and customs to ensure timely clearance and delivery, prepares all shipping documentation, and maintains accurate customer and order data in Zoho. Biserka appreciates the flexibility in shift scheduling at AbBaltis, which helps her manage a strong work-life balance while staying productive.

Paige joined AbBaltis in August 2022 as a Shipping Administrator. She works part-time and her role entails creating customs documents required for customers overseas, shipping paperwork and schedule collections with FedEx and DHL. She is a great addition to the team!

Tanya started working part-time at AbBaltis in August 2022. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Kingston University and is aiming to complete her postgraduate studies within the next few years. Her tasks within the lab involve preparing for shipping and packing, by re-dispensing the required units. She additionally helps her colleagues in any other tasks. She wishes to expand her scientific knowledge and she is eager to learn as much as she can from this experience. Tanya is grateful to work with such a lovely team!

Carolina is a dedicated professional with a first-grade degree in Biomedical Science and experience in laboratory and sample processing environments. In her current role as laboratory technician, she is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate processing of samples, supporting team members, and ensuring that quality and operational standards are consistently maintained.

With a strong scientific background and excellent organisational and leadership skills, Carolina enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, teamwork, and accuracy are essential. They are passionate about supporting high-quality laboratory services and working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain efficient processes and deliver reliable results.

Andrew studied extended diplomas in Uniformed Public Services and Environmental Science, including habitat management and wildlife conservation, developing a practical understanding of working in fast-paced environments and delivering results under pressure. As a Packing Operative at AbBaltis, he prepares and packs stock to fulfil orders, handling a wide variety of products that need to be properly classified, securely packed and compliant with international regulations. Andrew enjoys working alongside highly skilled and knowledgeable colleagues who strive for an efficient process.

Nicole holds a First Class BSc in Biomedical Sciences from Brunel University London, with lab experience spanning cancer research, gene therapy studies at Axovia Therapeutics and quality control at CooperVision, alongside a Senior Leader Apprenticeship at Canterbury Christ Church University. As Biobank Testing Manager at AbBaltis, she leads the Testing team, supports her team members' development, shapes testing strategy, and works with SAMs to progress sales opportunities while seeking new ways to improve testing efficiency and accuracy. Nicole values AbBaltis's support for professional development, including the completion of her Senior Leader Apprenticeship.

Chithara joined AbBaltis in May 2023 as Graduate Laboratory Technician. She recently graduated with a Masters degree in Pharmaceutical and Analytical Science. Chithara has a passion for people's health and quality products, and is extremely grateful for being part of such a dynamic and innovative team.

Jack studied Biomedical Science at the University of Kent before joining AbBaltis. As a Laboratory Technician on the Testing Team, he primarily runs lineblot tests and ELISAs, with sample testing as his main responsibility.

Jack enjoys the hands-on nature of lab work and being part of a team focused on getting accurate results for every sample that comes through.

With over 15 years of experience in protein purification from human tissues, Eugenia specialises in developing and optimising processes for protein purification from human plasma. Her focus on enhancing product quality, increasing yield, and shortening lead times has significantly contributed to our advancements in this field. As a dedicated team member, Eugenia actively collaborates to drive our company’s progress in protein purification. Her commitment to innovation and excellence makes her a valuable asset to our organisation.

Megan joined AbBaltis in September 2022 and has been an integral part of the team ever since. She graduated from the University of Kent with a First-Class Honours degree in Biomedical Science and is currently furthering her expertise by pursuing a Master’s in Biomedicine. As the Lab Shipping Team Supervisor and Senior Lab Technician, Megan thrives on the variety her role offers and takes pride in completing tasks to the highest standard. Highly organised and dedicated, she is committed to delivering exceptional results and ensuring positive customer experiences. Her passion for excellence and attention to detail make her a valued member of the AbBaltis team.

Bel joined AbBaltis in October 2022 and has quickly become an invaluable member of the team. She holds a BSc in Medical Sciences from the University of Exeter and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Biomedicine at the University of Kent, alongside her colleague Megan. Since joining, Bel has gained expertise in international shipping and now takes the lead in training new recruits for the lab’s shipping team. Beyond her professional responsibilities, she organises company celebrations, bringing warmth and positivity to every event. Bel’s nurturing nature, kindness, and dedication make her an irreplaceable part of the AbBaltis team.

We welcomed Claudia to our team in October 2019, and she played a crucial role in securing our ISO:9001 certification while ensuring that all our equipment is regularly serviced and meets safety standards. Before joining us, she gained valuable experience working at various scientific companies across Kent. Claudia holds a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering, an MSc in Industrial Biotechnology, and a Diplom-Ingenieur in Bio-Verfahrenstechnik (Degree in Bioprocess Engineering). Claudia ensures that our lab is maintained to the utmost standard!

Claire brings experience from a local courier company, where she handled worldwide shipping administration. As Finance Administrator at AbBaltis, she processes the company's invoices, chases outstanding payments and supports the sales team by sending out offers to customers. Claire enjoys the flexibility and the diverse, supportive team at AbBaltis, and finds the science behind diagnostic testing genuinely fascinating.

Mahshad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Public Health from Norway. She began her career as a laboratory technician in the pharmaceutical industry, gaining hands-on experience in scientific operations. Her interest gradually shifted toward the strategic and creative aspects of healthcare, leading her to transition into pharmaceutical marketing. To deepen her expertise, she completed a second Master’s degree in Digital Marketing in London. As a Marketing Executive at Abbaltis, a global biotech company, Mahshad combines her scientific knowledge with digital marketing skills to support the company’s communications and engagement within the life sciences sector.
