On 21st January 2020, our team attended the Life Sciences Research and Employability Fair at Canterbury Christ Church University.
This gave us the chance to meet with students currently studying undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the life science sector.
Our MD, Giedre spoke about why events like this are so important to AbBaltis. “As a company, our business is about ‘empowering the next generation of scientists’. I talk about it a lot, as it is fundamental to how I want us to work. Not only do I want our team to meet with students at all levels to discuss the realities of undertaking a career in the life sciences sectors, but I also want us to offer them advice on starting their own businesses, or looking at the best ways to get their careers started. I want AbBaltis to do as much as we can to get more young people excited about careers in science.”
Our attendance at the Careers Fair coincides with the launch of our Student Newsletter, where we will offer students tips on everything from crafting CVs and writing cover letters, to how to secure work experience. If you would like to sign up to our quarterly student newsletter, please email us.
We have lots of other student outreach days planned over the next few months, including several other university visits; meeting A Level students to discuss career paths outside of degrees, and meeting secondary school age children to encourage them to view science as the wonderful career choice it is.
