Appraisals at AbBaltis

Last week, we spoke about the importance of appraisals, and most of you believed this process provides an opportunity for growth, which is exactly what we want to achieve here at AbBaltis!

Today, we will shine light on how we execute these processes, ensuring that each team member is evaluated fairly:

🥇 Appraisals at AbBaltis consist of three key steps. First, employees complete two self-assessment forms, where they rate themselves on various competencies and highlight their achievements over the past year. These forms help management evaluate the employee's performance and account for their own perceptions, before individual appraisal meetings.

🥈 During the appraisal meetings, we discuss these self-assessments and outline potential career paths, promotions, and opportunities for the upcoming year. After the meetings, management convenes to compile a performance observation form detailing strengths, areas for improvement, and general feedback for that employee.

🥉 Once the performance observation form is forwarded to the relevant staff member, they also have the opportunity to provide feedback on the appraisal process and overall experience within their roles. This document is then filed for reference in the following year.

➡ If as a result of the appraisal there are any promotions, role changes, or additional responsibilities, we update the job specification and provide them with a list of annual KPIs, approved previously by the employee. These KPIs will be assessed during the next appraisal and can be amended or expanded throughout the year, allowing staff to document and showcase their progress!
